REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum requirements: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience: Appropriate knowledge and experience in cleaning and waste management in a hospital/health environment.
- Inherent requirements of the job: The Physical ability to lift heavy objects. Valid driver’s licence.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication skills. Knowledge of collection of waste, waste handling, waste segregation and waste disposal. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Control policies.
DUTIES :
- Provide a clean, safe and hygienic environment in terms of standards and procedures to prevent spread of infection and injuries which includes sweeping, scrubbing, mopping floors, dusting, emptying bins, and cleaning windows.
- Ensure effective control and management of general waste and medical waste.
- Ensure daily waste collections of general and medical waste using waste trolleys and GG vehicles.
- Ensure effective use of cleaning equipment, cleaning machinery and cleaning material in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide general support to the Supervisor.
