Rand Water is currently looking for an Employee Relations Consultant to provide effective, efficient Industrial Relations Advisory service to the organisation and to maintain labour peace through research, development, implementation and compliance of employee relations strategy thus ensuring less disputes, high productivity and realization of the organization’s strategic objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • M + 4 Legal Qualification or any recognized HR equivalent qualification with Labour Law as a major course
  • LLB will serve as an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a unionised environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of CCMA/ Bargaining Council exposure
  • Exposure in Conciliation/Arbitration/Facilitation will serve as a distinct advantage
  • Ability to co-ordinate, advise and assist Divisions and Departments with regards to Industrial Relation
  • Ability to think and act at a strategic level
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Primary Duties

  • Provide strategic Industrial Relations guidance and advisory service, direction and influence to all internal customers and the Rand Water
  • Represent Rand Water at labour disputes before the CCMA and Bargaining Council
  • Schedule and monitor disciplinary hearings
  • Implement effective Employee Relations strategies and policies at Rand Water
  • To consult with the business on employee relations requirements, to manage processes, facilitate discussions, provide advice and counselling
  • Assist with policy review and drafting in order to meet changing legislative requirements and business needs
  • Provide labour advice to management and employees
  • Maintain a data repository for Employee Relations on the SAP HR system that with assist with compiling reports when required
  • To perform the administrative functions related to all Employee Relations processes, including reporting and trend analysis

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
