SG Coal Apprenticeship Programme
SG Coal is one of South Africa’s leading logistics and coal transport companies, committed to youth development and technical training. Through its Apprenticeship Programme, the company offers unemployed youth the opportunity to gain practical experience, trade theory, and on-the-job training — leading to a Red Seal qualification after successful completion.
The programme focuses on two high-demand trades within the heavy vehicle and mining industries:
- Diesel Mechanic
- Automotive Electrician
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the SG Coal Apprenticeship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Have completed Grade 9 (with at least 50% in Mathematics and Science)
or hold an NQF Level 1 qualification with 50% in Mathematics and Science - Be unemployed and available for the full duration of the apprenticeship
- Be willing to undergo theoretical, practical, and workplace-based training
- Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
