Fixed Term Contract Junior Behavioural Analyst Vacancy at SARS
The Behavioural Analyst will play a key role in analysing and interpreting behavioural data from outsourced debt collection agencies to optimize collection strategies and enhance the effectiveness of debt recovery processes.
The role will require the behaviourist to apply psychological principles, data analytics, and behavioural science techniques to assess the performance and tactics used by outsourced debt collectors. The outcome of this analysis will guide decision-making and improve the relationship management between the tax revenue authority and its outsourced partners, ultimately leading to tailored collection strategies that will improve collections and minimized risk of non-compliance.
Purpose: To provide operational and analytical support in order to manage data quality management related to analysing the development of behavioural insights Unit to understand why people behave the way they do, how they make decisions and how they can be motivated or nudged to “do the right thing”.
Education and Experience
- National Diploma / Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in behavioural economics / similar.
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
- 2 – 3 years experience in a behavioural economics/similar environment, of which 1 – 2 years at a knowledge worker level.

- Identify and resolve queries and problems timeously, apply discretion in line with process guidelines provided.
- Provide specialist input through the investigation of opportunities for operational and process product and risk optimisation.
