Bidvest Insurance Compliance Internship Programme
This 12-month structured internship provides hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance within the financial services and insurance sector. Interns will work closely with the Compliance and Legal team, gaining practical experience in compliance monitoring, reporting, and regulatory engagement.
This is more than just an internship, it’s a gateway into a highly regulated, in-demand professional field.
Key Responsibilities
As a Compliance Intern, you will:
- Manage the complaints process, ensuring accurate records and timely resolution
- Support FAIS oversight and fit-and-proper requirements for sales teams
- Monitor adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements
- Coordinate and track compliance training programmes
- Conduct compliance monitoring in line with the annual compliance plan
- Test controls and identify potential compliance gaps
- Assist with compliance reports for management and regulators
- Contribute to policy reviews and compliance framework implementation
- Support information requests from regulators such as the FSCA and Prudential Authority
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Degree in LLB, BCom Law, Compliance, Risk Management or a related qualification
- Advantageous: Completed Compliance Certificate
- South African citizen aged 18–35 years
- Must not have previously completed a SETA or Government-funded internship
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified copies of qualifications
- Curriculum Vitae and motivational letter
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Proactive, determined, and eager to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Good customer service and stakeholder support skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows systems
