Cape Gate invites South African students to apply for Erwin Robert Balde Bursaries for 2026 academic year.

Cape Gate Erwin Robert Balde Bursaries

Cape Gate, located in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, supplies multiple sectors including mining, agriculture, construction, engineering, commerce and international markets. The bursary supports talented learners pursuing Chartered Accountancy studies, helping them access quality education and career opportunities.

The bursary is awarded for studies toward a BCom (CA stream) undergraduate degree, up to Honours level.

Expenses Covered

The bursary provides comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Book allowance
  • Once-off computer allowance
  • Personal allowance
  • Accommodation in residence and meals, or a living allowance

Vacation Work

Recipients must complete paid vacation work at Cape Gate during December and January holidays.

Bursary Renewal

  • Awarded for one year at a time
  • Renewable each year based on strong academic performance

Work-Back Obligation

Bursary recipients may be required to work for Cape Gate after graduation for a period equal to the duration of sponsorship. Employment is at market-related remuneration.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

  • Completed Matric in 2025
  • Achieved at least 70% in Mathematics in Matric
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 65%
  • Intend to study full-time toward a BCom (CA stream) degree
  • Entering 1st year of study in 2026
  • Accepted or applying to a recognised South African university
  • Have proven financial need
  • Not receiving any other bursary or funding

Failure to meet all requirements will result in disqualification.
